New Year, New Goals
January 1, 2018

I can't believe it's been over a year since I last wrote in this journal. I don't feel like trying to remember everything I read or watched last year, but I would like to talk about my hopes for this year.

I set my Goodreads Reading Challenge goal at 24 books, even though I only mananged to finish one book last year (according to Goodreads). I'm sure that I'll be lowering that number by summer, depending on how I'm doing by then. I have so many books that I need to be reading, but it's difficult when I only read at bedtime and end up falling asleep after only a couple of pages. Between physical books and what's on the Kindle, I might have around 200 books to read. So, I either need to read the shorter books first or find other times in the day to read.

I'm hoping to catch a movie in theaters once a month, if we can. There were a few movies I wanted to see in theater last year, but we kept waiting too long and missed them. Hopefully, we'll also catch the movies we missed by watching them on TV (streaming).

We now have Hulu, Netflix and Amazon… on top of cable TV. We keep saying that we'll cut the TV part of cable, but then there's a bunch of interesting new shows that we have to check out. And the streaming services we have mostly sit, waiting for us to watch them again. We need to either make them a priority or cut back on them as well. I'm not a big binge watcher, as we often just have the TV on for a few hours in the evenings, but it would be nice to catch up on some of the shows.

I don't often play video/computer games, but it would be nice to play a few interesting games this year. Maybe even a board game, card game, or something. Once a week or once a month, depending on the game. It'll be fun and entertaining.

Anyway, I hope to post in here again soon, when I have an idea of what I'll be reading, watching and/or playing.
