|Lots of Trains|
September 17, 2022
Blink and tons of time has passed by. It's happened before in the 19 years I've been a member here.
My life at the moment has been littered with a lot of train journeys.
Firstly, there was a trip to Leeds on the 9/9 to meet a potential employer about becoming their planning consultant in my part of the country, an untapped market for them. We got on well, but they said they had to make a corporate decision on whether to invest and then have me generate new business, or wait until they had business then invest. This indirectly made very clear that if I was brought in and didn't bring in new business I'd soon be out of the door. In that respect, I'm better off where I am as whilst new business is a part of what I do, there's more to it and my head of not on the block.
Then, I went to London for a new business planning day for my current job. It was right smack in the middle of the Queen's lying in state at Westminster Hall, so it was very busy. I questionned the wisdom on my travelling down during this chaos but, in the end, it was not noticably busier than normal. It was a relatively smooth day in the end and I wasn't even that tired.
On Tuesday I am off to York for a new business pitch, which I am looking forward to, then on Thursday I am off to Holmfirth to meet a friend, a club singer. She went a bit weird and was writing asking if I knew we were just friends etc. It's the worst type of fucking rejection, when I've not even asked in the first place! So I'm looking forward to the visit, hopefully she's not awkward. I won't be.
Then on the Saturday I'm visiting my sister and my brother-in-law and I are going to watch some non-league football. Then it's back home and chill until the following week where we're into October. So it's been a busy September, but that's better than doing nothing.
