|Good-bye 2017, and First Week Plans|
December 31, 2017
2017 was a not-so-good year for me. I didn't lose any weight. I barely exercised (outside of walking). I've not been eating healthier. I fell into a rut and now my joints ache even more, especially my left knee. At the beginning of the year, I had high hopes for reaching my goal weight by my 40th birthday. Now, I'm thinking it'll have to be my 42nd birthday… if I'm lucky. I just don't think I can lose around 130 pounds in 410 days. So, good-bye to 2017. I hope 2018 will be a better year.
For 2018, I plan to set weekly goals instead of having some vague yearly resolution that I might forget about in a few months.
Here is what I'm hoping to do for the first week…
On Monday, January 1, I will weigh myself in the morning and mark that as my starting weight.
During this first week, I plan to…
-be mindful of what, how and why I eat.
-get at least 250 steps per hour, or be active for at least a few minutes each hour.
On Saturday night, January 6, I will go over how I did during the week. If I stuck to my goals and did well overall, then Sunday will be my reward day.
If Sunday is my reward day, I'll have to figure out what I like or want that is not food related.
Then next Monday morning, January 8, I will weigh myself again. If I lost a pound, then I will give myself a dollar. If I gained a pound, I will give that dollar to someone else/charity.
I hope by making the first week goals easy, that I'll be able to stick to bigger ones later on.
Anyway, I hope to post in here at least once a week.
