I went to the doctor's today for what was supposed to be my annual physical, but we ended up mostly talking about weight and other things. She took some vitals and gave me some handouts. I'll see her again in 6 months. I hope to have lost 30 pounds in that time.
I've been thinking about exercise and how I could incorporate it into my day. I need to do more research and check out our local gyms.
I feel like I'm rushing through the exercises I'm trying, so I need to do further research into how to exercise correctly. What is considered "too fast" or "too slow"? How long to do each exercise? How long for each fitness session? Etc.?
Gyms. We have about 3 gyms in town according to a Google search. All 3 have pictures, but only one has prices listed on their site. The second one can be accessed 24/7. And the third seems more of a power-lifting bootcamp than a gym. I plan to check each one out to see which one would be the best fit for me.
A lot of people seem to join a gym in January, only to quit a month or so later. I don't want to be seen as someone who's likely to quit, so I might wait till spring to join one. This should also hopefully give me enough time to talk myself out of my fear of gyms.
I'm in this for life.
