Something To Think About (Thanks, Mom)
June 29, 2020

Didn't do much today. Mom and I did more online shopping (garage floor mat). Groomed Nougat. Puttered around. Too hot to do a whole lot.

The a/c in the family room, which is brand new (bought in January), is not keeping temperature. It's fine in the morning and evening, but in mid afternoon, when the sun is in the back, and coming in the skylights, the room heats up to 84°, despite the thermostat being at 80°.

The a/c guy was just here last Friday, and said everything was fine. Apparently not. He's coming back early tomorrow morning to take a look.

The weather continues in the 90's with the heat index in the low 100's. We need the a/c!!

Our neighboring county has (finally) made wearing a mask mandatory. Wish ours would. The governor believes everything will be fine for the GOP convention here in August. Maybe it would be, if people complied, but since many are not willing to, I'm not too optimistic.

Mom made an interesting point today. One reason people object to wearing masks is they claim it's government infringement on their rights. And yet, wearing seatbelts when driving is mandatory, and people accept that and don't scream about their rights being violated. Why is having to wear a mask any different? Just something to think about.

And if people choose not to wear a mask, then they should be required to stay home, and keep their germs to themselves, so the rest of us can feel safer when we have to go out.
