|Colors of the Season... a rambling entry|
October 17, 2020
I'm thinking of changing the colors of my journal. I know I'm late, but maybe a Halloween or fall theme?
Or winter, since we saw the white stuff for the first time this season. Tracy's hoping (out loud) that's the only time we'll see the white stuff. Yeah... we'll see about that.
I did get the game's core book last weekend at the "local" game store. I've been reading it this past week and figuring out some things. So far, I still like it. I just hope we can find people to play with, as it's not as well-known or as popular as D&D.
The cats seem okay.
I feed Mickey and Susie Q three times a day, so I've been trying to spend an hour or so each time, whenever possible. Even if they're off doing their own thing, I figure me spending time in their space will be good for them as well.
Mickey was up here on Friday (with Zola safely in my office). He liked it until Tracy brought Susie up. She was scared, so Tracy put her down near Mickey (because "Susie loves Mickey"). Mickey growled and ran back down the stairs. Susie followed him and then hid in her hiding spot. We sadly laughed at that reaction, saying that Mickey probably thought this floor was all his and he didn't have to share it with Susie. He's been growling at her and chasing her a bit more than usual, but then I catch them sleeping next to each other in the afternoon. It's sweet... like in an odd couple kind of way.
Zola seems to be getting these little twitches in her face and front legs. She's otherwise her usual self (regarding her input, output, and activity levels). I let the "foster boss" know, in case the vet needs to be notified.
Zola wants attention, but she does not hang out with us for long once she gets it. Usually, she'll sit with us for 10 minutes tops, but she sat with me the other day for nearly half an hour or so.
The cats at the shelter are mostly okay. Of the nine cats that are currently there... I'm in love with an old "man" named Finnegan (who loves laps more than food), a big girl named Princess (who lives up to her name at times), and more recently the new guy named Oden (because I fall for every black cat that comes through).
I was better at taking my morning pills this week, except for yesterday and today. Tomorrow, I will remember to take them first thing.
Tracy has the Alexa device playing 70s rock while making his famous pizza. I love it.
Anyway, Tracy said it'll take close to a half-hour before the pizza will be ready. I still need to feed Mickey and Susie Q their dinner and give Zola her pill. So, I should go do that. I hope you are well.
PS: Today, I am grateful for... volunteering. I spend my time helping out at the local library's bookstore and at the cat shelter. Some people might not understand, saying something about how they could never volunteer (whatever that means). To me, it's the experience and I feel great helping these organizations (that would otherwise not be here without volunteers to run them).
