I woke up with a light brush of hot lips against my forehead. I lazily opened one eye. Jack was heading out the room.

"Where you are going Jack?" I asked softly. His head jerked around and there was a flash of guilt on his face. He walked slowly back to me, his feet dragging on the carpet.

"I need to disappear for a few days. I can't tell you why. I am so sorry."

"You were just going to leave me, without telling me, without note, a message or a good bye?" He came back and sat on the edge of the bed, taking my hand in his.

"I don't want to leave you. It's the hardest thing I thing I ever have to do. I miss not being with you. It hurts so much. From the moment I met you, not a day has gone by when I have not thought of you. I'm in agony with the knowledge I need to leave you for a while. The longer I'm away the worse it gets. I am hunted by you. You are in my very soul tormenting me.

"Then take me with." I looked up at him, tears clouding my eyes. The "steely resolve in his stormy eyes softened a little. "I can arrange to go away with you. Please don't walk away."

I did not care about the secrets he kept. He told me he had many. I can only see the good in him and how we make each other feel. And in the end, that's really all that matters.
