RP-Related Writing Update
November 20, 2022

I'm still trying to find a way to be more active in my current RP groups. Active enough that I won't feel bad for wanting to join another RP group.

I am curious about 2-4 groups that were advertised recently. They are on a different hosting site than what I use for my current groups. I am tempted to join this other site to see how they are and how the site works for RP groups.

I do see a few pros and cons from a limited outsider's point of view.

PROS
-this RPG hosting site has been around since 2000, and still going strong(?).
-It's free, seeming to rely on donations for the most part.
-The site looks simple yet modern (does not look like it's from 2000).
-The terms and rules do not seem confusing and they allow mature content (with their own rules).

CONS?
-It might feel somewhat restricted. Newcomers can join no more than 3 groups at first. Show commitment and that could increase.
-You have to "actively" wait at least two weeks before you have access to the more mature groups on the site.
-Parts of it might seem confusing for newcomers, leading many to leave quickly. Some that linger seem to grasp things and enjoy the site.
-It's a forum-based site, which is different than email-based groups. I don't think I've ever played in a forum-based RPG before.

I've told myself that I have to show that I'm actively committed to my current groups for a few weeks before I might join this other site. Luckily the groups I'm thinking of joining have a similar slow to moderate activity expectation.

Anyway, regarding my current groups...
-I hope I didn't wait too long to respond to those in BR. It's been nearly a month since I last posted and not a peep from the other writer-players. If they had to wait 8 months between my previous posts and my last post, then surely I can wait a few months if needed.
-I am slowly working on a reply to one thread on LS and see that someone replied to a thread I posted to yesterday. So, I hope to respond to that this week as well.
-I have 2 threads in another group that I haven't posted to in a few weeks. I need to get jumping on them as soon as I can.
-Three's another group I'm in, but it hasn't seen any new posts in 6 months. I might decide to leave that one if I end up joining another group.
